Shari Weigerstorfer's Profile:
When I was in Junior High my family moved from a small truck stop in Oregon to Southern California. Writing my friends back "home" is my first memory of writing. I remember it filled my days and made me laugh. I guess at that age, my friends and I weren't the most faithful pen pals because that lasted for just a season but it had sparked an interest which gave me joy. My next attempt at writing was to enroll in a "creative writing" class my junior year in High School. I had no idea what "creative writing" was and that became evident when my first assignment was returned from the teacher with the comment circled in red "What is this?" Crushed and embarrassed, I dropped the class. Over twenty years went by before I wrote again. By then I had moved to Switzerland and email had been invented. Again, I found myself writing back "home." My notes to friends and family began to contain stories, reflections and perspectives. Encouraged by those who love me, I have ventured further out of my comfort zone and am now sharing these writings with anyone interested who may be encouraged or amused. Thank you for reading.
