Is Fasting God's Key to Victory?
Many believers think the one-time sacrifice of Christ on the Cross was insufficient. So they make themselves suffer to try to merit God's favor to gain answers to prayer thereby.
Only one regular fast was commanded by God and only under the Old Covenant. No apostle ever commands, or even recommends, fasting in the epistles, or rebukes anyone for failure to fast. Fasting is a bodily function like eating. Prayer power proceeds from the spirit, not an empty stomach.
Rewriting Scripture to Justify Tithing
Unscrupulous preachers count on the ignorance of Christians who don't have time to properly study their Bibles to rightly divide the Word of Truth.
There is overwhelming Scriptural evidence against monetary church tithing. In order to justify today's tithing doctrine you have to pick and choose a few favorite scriptures and rewrite them to change their meaning. And you must ignore other scriptures which are not enforced today.

While Christians must make a brave stance against evil in their society, there is a line which should not be crossed. The love of Christ, not condemnation, needs to be shown to grieving people. Only God is Judge over all the universe.
