  • CHARGE!?
Why do we do it? I mean, why do we allow the merchants who shamelessly hawk their wares to force us into their mold, to tell us what we MUST spend for Christmas? Do we really give thought to what is happening around us and the consequences of our action or are we thoughtlessly going with the flow afraid that we will not meet someone’s expectations?
  • THE BEST THANKSGIVING EVER
The table was bountifully spread. Johnny's eyes took it all in. Secretly he swiped his finger through the whipped topping licking his finger and savoring the sweet goodness. He wished the adults would hurry up. He was hungry.
  • JOSEPH, THE FORGOTTEN
Joseph was put into a very difficult situation. He obviously loved Mary, his intended bride, and was waiting with anticipation for the day that he could take her into his home and make her his wife. But God had other plans for his life. Plans that required him to put his own plans on hold for another year.
  • TODAY (and EVERY DAY) I AM THANKFUL
It only takes a little thought to be thankful. We each have treasures that are not tied to material things. The scripture admonishes us to "Give thanks in all things." Have you ever made a list of things for which to be thankful? In this article we help you start a list.
  • THANKS-LIVING
We are approaching the Thanksgiving holiday, a time of celebrating with family, for some. But for others it will seem like a day to be “forgotten by family.” They don’t mean to be rude, they just don’t stop to “think” how much you remember the good times of the past. Some folk seem to set Thanksgiving aside for giving “thanks” but others have found the secret of thankfulness, even in the midst of what appears to be heartbreaking circumstances.
  • CHARACTER DEFINED
CHARACTER is made up of the stable and distinctive qualities built into an individual's life which determine his response regardless of circumstances. American Dictionary of the English Language.

Reflecting on the above statement for a short while will allow a person to realize, to some degree, at least, the importance of forming character. The truth is, we form our character over a period of time, for good or evil.
  • A SHARED CHRISTMAS
This play is especially adaptable for the small church. It has only four characters and scenery is simple. The true meaning of Christmas giving is it's theme.

Two teenagers are showing less than the Christmas Spirit and Mom and Dad decide it is time to teach their two materialistic teens the real value of Christmas giving.
  • GOD'S VALENTINE
It wasn't a mushy, sentimental missive but a genuine, bona fide, pure act of love. In the beginning, God, the ever-existent One, living in the realm of Eternity, created the heavens and the earth.
  • HEART HUNGER
Erica sang mechanically. Sometimes she wondered why she even made the effort. There wasn't a song in her heart.

Her mind whirled as she thought of the argument that she and Josh had had that morning. It was only one of many that continuously flared between them. Arguments over things that had no eternal significance. What difference did it make if a little water got on the floor from her shower? Josh was just so picky!
  • SUBMIT ONE TO ANOTHER
Ephesians 5: 21-22 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

Submit means to 'To yield or surrender (oneself) to the will or authority of another.' The very term, 'submit,' seems to raise our hackles. We want to be our 'own person' and in total control of our 'own' decisions. And, yet, we submit all the time. We submit to the laws of the land. We submit to the demands of work, the boss, school attendance,...
  • THE 3 ESSENTIAL C’s OF MARRIAGE
Marriage is not a trial and error event. It was meant by God to be permanent and just as the wedding vows state, it is not something to enter into inadvisably. Marriage requires commitment. It is intended to be for better or for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health.
  • SO YOU THINK YOU WANT A DIVORCE
Janice and Meryl were married on a beautiful, clear, afternoon in late June. The wedding and reception was perfect in every way. Many of their guests commented on the tender devotion that each displayed toward the other. No one could have convinced anyone at that moment that they would not live happily ever after.

Meryl had made plans for a wonderful honeymoon in the Bahamas. It was beautiful. Meryl was so thoughtful and tender. Janice was deliriously happy and knew that she had made a wise cho
  • ALL THINGS ARE LAWFUL
The statement "everything is permissible" seems to be a statement being made by the Corinthians who had a misunderstanding of true freedom. Mankind still buys that idea in many circles. They say, "I can do anything I please and the grace of God covers me."¯ There is something very wrong about that statement and Paul addresses the idea here.

There are questions that need to be asked as to whether a Christian is free to engage in a certain activity. Below are some questions to consider...
  • IMMORALITY AND STD'S
Today’s society embraces an immoral lifestyle for the young (and old alike) but God never has. Paul wrote, “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. [1 corinthians 6:18]

The medical community bears out the truth of that statement. Consider for a moment some statistical information:...
  • DISCIPLESHIP RELATIONSHIPS
The world, even the dictionary, gives love the definition of a "feeling" but God's word gives us the understanding that genuine love is not a feeling but a "decision" that responds with action.

This article exposes the kind of love we need to reflect as a Christian.
  • LET HIM DENY HIMSELF - Lu 9:23-26; 14:27-30 - by willetta
Cross bearing and Self-denial is not a subject we hear preached anymore. However, those thoughts are not just old-fashioned. They ARE the word of God.

Becoming a Christian has become almost like a “popular thing to do” without any requirements. You just come and say a little prayer ... and boom! You are a Christian. And that is all there is to it.

But Jesus did not teach that philosophy. He said there is a price to pay in following Him.
  • REFUSING TO COMPROMISE (Daniel 6:4–7, 10, 16, 19, 21, 22, 25, 26)
Daniel gives us an example of how we should live and also how we are to face the "lion dens of our own. Uncommitted and unsaved people often attempt to pull the Christian down because of their righteous stance.
  • GUNS, GUNS, and MORE GUNS
Gun laws, violence, effect of TV on children, we discuss it but what is the answer. The Bible has an interesting verse about the subject of the effectiveness of the "no guns" policy.
  • ETERNAL CHRIST
The writer of Hebrews closes the book with many last minute instructions for those who follow Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Thier admonitions are so good for us to hear for today
