A God-given Vision
By :
In the eyes of men, their work for God can begin whenever they choose to do so. Some will choose to enter into God’s work only after obtaining the right education in divinity; some will choose to obtain the prior support of some organization and some will choose to manipulate and evolve a vision all their own. Only a few are prepared to spend three years in isolation as did the Apostle Paul of Tarsus, God’s work In the eyes of men, their work for God can begin whenever they choose to do so.

About Thanking The Giver
By :
Norma Klingler
“We are never closer to failure than during our greatest successes. If we fail to recognize God’s part in our achievements, they are no better than our failures. King Uzziah overestimated his own importance in bringing about the great achievements he experienced. His pride, listen to this, was rooted in his lack of thankfulness. He’d forgotten not only how much God had given, and done for him, but also that God had certain roles for others in his life that he needed to respect."

Aim perfect, be Perfect!
By :
Shaila D Touchton
Some men always defend themselves by saying “I am not perfect ‘ and they deny to aim for perfection. Jesus took your sins upon himself so that we can be perfect in God's eyes. Every person is to develop God's righteous character as in "perfect" themselves to be more like God.
Alcohol’s Protégé
By :
DeAnna Brooks
During the ten years of our marriage, my husband only shared one paternal remembrance with me … his only one, or so he said. Maybe he could recall it because the memory shrouded itself in darkness, something he didn’t have to see. Something only his ears knew. But hearing failed to safeguard that tender listening heart.

Book: Growing In God's Grace; Appendix 1: Counting The Cost Of Discipleship
By :
Carey W. Scott
There will be much that you learn and come to understand as you grow and study. However at the very beginning, you need to be willing to surrender your will to His, and be committed to follow and obey truth--whatever it takes and wherever it may lead you. Your love for the Lord will be the driving force that will empower you to keep the commandments John 14:15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Appendix 2:
By :
Carey W. Scott
Dear Christian Friends, Though I do not know you, and you do not know me, please understand that I am concerned for your souls. I also am concerned for the souls of the lost. I cannot reach the lost in your world, only you can do that. I am encouraging you to "go" to the lost in your families, workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and in public places. Yes you must live a faithful life before God.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Appendix 3: Snatch Them From The Fire
By :
Carey W. Scott
The real lesson is in the overall picture of these events. Until we Christians can look upon souls of men as being lost, we will not make any effort at all to save them or attempt to snatch them out of the fire.
As His disciples, we are given the great commission to go make other disciples. We are to teach others about God and His laws and His grace. We are to do this because we love souls and each other. Yet, without love, we are just wasting our time (1 Corinthians 13:2-3).
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch01: The Foundation
By :
Carey W. Scott
Why is it that we expect Christians to be ready immediately after baptism to show signs of maturity and growth? Many Christians like the builder and the sports team expect the final result right away and then become confused, frustrated, and run out of patience.
Christians want the championship rings and medals right away. They must, however, learn to develop and grow in stages that will ultimately get them the reward of their goal. In the Christian's thinking, that goal is heaven.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch02: Knowing The Profitable Things
By :
Carey W. Scott
Let’s learn to put our trust in God's word. Our teaching must be by book, chapter, and verse. If we are to preach, we must only preach that which the word of God reveals. We cannot add theology to his word. We cannot add doctrine to his word. We can only teach the word so as to give the proper understanding. To explain the word of God in a language that people can relate to. To speak in a language that opens the mind to accept the words and apply them. By using symbols and examples, people can l
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch03: The Benefits Of Knowing
By :
Carey W. Scott
Knowing the character of God can be learned through His word. Once again, we must emphasize the fact that the Bible is the word of God. It is to be accepted by faith as fact and not fiction. If we are to have any hope of the promises being fulfilled, we have to know that every word of God is inspired, and profitable for us.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch04: Bible Study
By :
Carey W. Scott
We should always begin bible study with prayer. There is a window of opportunity by reading God's word. "God is speaking to me". This is how I should look at this opportunity. To see if I can serve God better by learning His will better and more accurately.
The Bible has the pattern. The Bible has the words of life written in its pages. The Bible shows us the way. The Bible gives us hope. Do not take bible study lightly. Your soul depends on it.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch05: Prayer
By :
Carey W. Scott
Prayer is a privilege that no Christian should take for granted. We must realize that when we pray, God listens. Imagine that; the same God who created the world, and sent His Son to die on the cross, will take time to listen to your prayers.
Prayer is one of the greatest privileges that God has given us. There is no monetary charge for it. We should take advantage of it. Our spiritual well-being depends on it. Pray as often as you can and you will be better for it.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch06: Stewardship Or Service
By :
Carey W. Scott
Our service we perform on behalf of others is in actuality an act of worship to God. God demands our service. God teaches us through His word to help others. We are to serve each other. We have obligations and responsibilities. God did not promise a bed of roses or an easy pathway. God promised a life of servitude. We are to become slaves of God. After our labors on earth are done, we will be allowed to rest from them.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch07: Worship
By :
Carey W. Scott
We must worship God. There is a meaning for it. There is a reason for it. We must express it. When we study the process of living the Christian life, worship will take an important part in that area. We must learn all about worship. Not just the organized program of "church", but the entire aspect of service to God. Our life is worship to God. We must be sure that God is pleased. God knows all and sees all. We must constantly ask ourselves if we are acceptable.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch08: Participation In The Local Church
By :
Carey W. Scott
The local church represents the universal church in the physical realm. Since the true church is spiritual in nature, the only body that can show itself to the world is the local church. God left us guidelines and rules to follow as to how to conduct ourselves. Since the local church is physical, it is in the world. The local membership consists of human beings. Though these humans have obeyed the gospel of Christ, there is still a chance that human error can occur.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch09: Understanding God's Will
By :
Carey W. Scott
We need to know what God's will is for us. Simply stated; we must be like God to be pleasing to Him. That sounds like an impossible task, doesn't it? Well, the Bible commands and advises us over and over that we must be like Him. If the Bible tells us that, we have to know that it is possible, because God would not require anything of us of which we were not capable. The Bible is and can be our guide. The Bible tells us about God and it tells us about His will.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch10: Understanding
By :
Carey W. Scott
This section will look at several words and their meanings. When we study certain words, we gain knowledge of what they mean. When we learn what they mean, we have a better understanding. To know what something means. To know why something is. And to have an absolute positive feeling of knowledge and how to apply it properly.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch11: The Light Of God
By :
Carey W. Scott
The moon has no light of its own, but at night it is the brightest object in the sky. Why? It is because it is a reflection of a true light. We as Christians must be like the moon and reflect the true light of Jesus to the darkness of the world we live in.
Christians are to let their light shine. Remember, every Christian is a light, and every Christian is responsible as to how brightly that light shines, leads, and guides those around themselves.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch12: Walking With God
By :
Carey W. Scott
We cannot enjoy the pleasures of the world and stay on the straight and narrow. The choice is ours. God by His mercy and grace has given us the two options to choose from. We must make the right choice. Only you can do that. No one can do it for you. Others can help you, but nobody can force you. You must willingly live your life on the pathway that leads to heaven. The Bible is the roadmap, other Christians are your guiding lights, and Jesus is the way.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch13: Live And Living
By :
Carey W. Scott
Every aspect of our lives should be dedicated to serving God. We must live our lives in ways that God has taught us to live in order to be righteous. This is a continuous process. It must continue our whole life. As long as we have breath, we have a duty to God. Once our breath is gone, we can rest from our labors, but not until then.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch14: Sharing The Gospel
By :
Carey W. Scott
It takes a lot of courage to share the Gospel. Primarily, it is because of our own fears. We must go beyond our fears, and realize what God has done for us. We should be so thankful for what God has done for us that we are motivated to do something about it. Had someone not taken the time to teach you the Gospel, you could not have forgiveness of sins. You could not have a hope of salvation. Had Jesus not died on the cross, you could not be saved.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Ch15: Preaching The Word
By :
Carey W. Scott
We must realize that everything we do teaches a lesson to someone. We must take ourselves out of the thinking that only preachers preach. Every child of God is a preacher. Not everyone stands in the pulpit to declare God's will. But every Christian teaches by example, word, and deed. We teach that we believe in God. We do this by the way we live. God has an important meaning in our lives. We demonstrate it by the way we live.
Book: Growing In God's Grace; Introduction/Table of Contents
By :
Carey W. Scott
Our responsibility as Christians is to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Our ultimate goal is to develop ourselves to bring glory to His name.
This study will establish the groundwork or the foundation of the things necessary in each of our lives to accomplish this goal. As we go through this study, we will learn several basic concepts that will serve to enhance our lives to a spiritual maturity, which the Lord desires from us.
Call No Man "Father"?
By :
Shaila D Touchton
Many Protestants claim that when Catholics address priests as "father," they are engaging in an unbiblical practice that Jesus forbade: "Call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven" (Matt. 23:9).
In his tract 10 Reasons Why I Am Not a Roman Catholic, Fundamentalist anti-Catholic writer Donald Maconaghie quotes this passage as support for his charge that "the papacy is a hoax."
Bill Jackson, another Fundamentalist who runs a full-time anti-Catholic organization, says in his book Christian’s Guide To Roman Catholicism that a "study of Matthew 23:9 reveals that Jesus was talking about being called father as a title of religious superiority . . . [which is] the basis for the [Catholic] hierarchy" (53).
How should Catholics respond to such objections?

By :
March M. Villareal

Dealing With Fear
By :
Henrietta Elegunde
Fear leads to lost opportunities. It can rob us of our confidence, if we allow it to control us. Fear can be overwhelming. It is a form of battle of the mind, and spiritual warfare. Satan always tries to control people with some sort of fear. For example: fear of failure, fear of success (can I keep this up?), Fear of loneliness, fear of rejection, fear of criticism, and the list goes on.

By :

Many Christians profess belief in the Bible as God's answer and solution to every problem that society can and does face. However, numerous believers are embracing the solutions that are offered by those who don't consider the Bible as God's word and; consequently, ignore its counsel, guidance, instruction, and warnings.

Faith Healing
By :
Carey W. Scott
A healing is necessary when something is sick. In our situation, we are talking about our spiritual condition. Many christians have lost their spiritual health and need to be healed. When something is weakened by various trials or objects, then that something needs strengthening. So by necessary implication we can say that when we strengthen our faith, we are in a sense "faith healing".

Followers of Jesus Christ should expect persecution!
By :
Shaila D Touchton
Persecution comes to the believers of Jesus Christ and those who follow him. When Jesus came into the world in all of his righteousness, he exposed all of the evil of the world - and he was hated for it. We have to remember that Jesus said, "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
Forgive, Regardless of Your Feelings

Pastor Pauley

Forgiveness is Conditional
By :
Shaila D Touchton
Some of what is taught in evangelical churches today is taught on the basis assumption. I have a special impatience with those who assume, but the problem is that I am sometimes one of them!
Questions we will attempt to answer in this series include: Do I have to forgive someone who has not repented? How can I cope when I have ill feelings toward another? Is it okay to want God to even the score? Does forgiving imply forgetting? When I wrong someone, what, besides asking for forgiveness, can I do? Is it ever right to overlook the wrong things people do? Is it right to not get mad but to get even instead? If we forgive a person who committed a crime, should they be prosecuted? What does a genuine apology sound like? What about wrongs done in ignorance ("Father, forgive them for they know not what they do)?
Main Thought: Forgiveness is conditional, but what do we do when people don't meet the conditions?
Forgiveness is given only after repentance- not before!
By :
Shaila D Touchton
Forgiveness is not a way of forgetting the past. can learn from the past about how to avoid being harmed in the future.God did not forgive unrepentant offenders. He knows our hearts perfectly. Forgiveness is meant for past behavior that was unacceptable. Those that repent receive his forgiveness. Repentance is a fundamental part of God's requirements of man.to forgivesin. How do you restore a relationship or harmony with someone who refuses to accept they wronged you? In a relationship where one person won't accept they wronged the other, you cannot have harmony because of this basic disagreement itself. While God requires us to unconditionally forgive the business partner who cheats us if he repents , He does not require us to stay in business with him. We can forgive someone without being reunited with that person. Repentance and remorse are necessary to receive forgiveness. But if we want to build a broken relationship with other people or with God, repentance is necessary. Before one will change his life, he must decide to change/repent from past behavior which has caused the victim to hurt. Before he decides to change or repent, he must recognize that he has been guilty. As long as a person defends his practice and refuses to admit error, he has not repented.
FRIEND OF GOD?
By :
March M. Villareal
The Bible prescribes "fear & trembling" as the proper attitude when coming to God. In fact there was never an example anywhere in the Bible where a man or woman flippantly entered the presence of God and was condoned for it. In fact, Aaron's sons were killed when they entered into the inner parts of the tabernacle without the proper ceremonial process. Even Moses who spoke with God "as a friend" never approached God in a nonchalant manner.

God's Got Me Right Where He Wants Me
By :
Rick O
No matter how confused or distrodden we are, how hopeless the situation we're in may seem, believe it or not, God's got us right where He wants us. Even when we can't see the light at the end of the tunnel or where any good could possibly come from the situation we are in, He has his plan in mind. Remember, His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts. God can brings us out of or through any mess we get our own selves into if we simply come to Him with our needs.

By :
Sylvia Huffnagle

His Presence Is Just A Prayer Away
By :
Shari Weigerstorfer
"...Every so often, my relationship with God can seem this way. Some days my life is filled with black, hostile clouds. The warmth of God's love feels far away. I look but can't see Him. But faith assures me He's there, just like the sun. His wonderful presence is just a prayer away..."
Honoring God In Everyday Conversation
By :

Honoring the God of heaven and earth in everyday conversation is something that everyone can easily do whether they are a Christian or not. Such honor certainly doesn't take the place of salvation; but, it does show respect for God which affects society as a whole in a positive way.
How To Mend Your Broken Heart
By :
Henrietta Elegunde
Broken heart experience is a very painful experience. Even after some time has passed, pain can be triggered back by anything that reminds you of your. It could be something as simple as hearing a music on the radio, that reminds us about our pain. Even though pain can get better with time, what you do with the time is determines how long our healing process is. Time is not the best healer, what we do with that time is the best healer. I once met a woman who put her life on hold for 14 years after a painful divorce, and was still hurting, 14 years later.
