  • The Sin Of "Christian" Passivity  By : Hannah Henderson
It has become very popular among today's Christians to adopt the anti-biblical doctrine of "live and let live". The reasons for embracing such a philosophy are varied but range from the Christian's desire to avoid conflict with others to a guilty conscious for conducting the same sinful lifestyles that non-Christians live.

  • The Not So Meek Jesus  By : Hannah Henderson
Many well meaning Christians have, for some years now, preached a lop-sided gospel. They have either presented a God of pure wrath or one of only mercy, each side hoping to balance the other. In recent years, the gospel shared with others has leaned towards focusing on Jesus as the meek and humble Lamb of God who is too gentle and loving to ever chastise anyone or even rebuke their sin.
  • Demonic Solutions To Society's Problems  By : Jamie Smith
Many Christians profess belief in the Bible as God's answer and solution to every problem that society can and does face. However, numerous believers are embracing the solutions that are offered by those who don't consider the Bible as God's word and; consequently, ignore its counsel, guidance, instruction, and warnings.

  • About Thanking The Giver  By : Norma Klingler
“We are never closer to failure than during our greatest successes. If we fail to recognize God’s part in our achievements, they are no better than our failures. King Uzziah overestimated his own importance in bringing about the great achievements he experienced. His pride, listen to this, was rooted in his lack of thankfulness. He’d forgotten not only how much God had given, and done for him, but also that God had certain roles for others in his life that he needed to respect."

We have to remember that Jesus said, "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.
  • He is Daddy and He is God (6th in Balance Series)  By : Sylvia Huffnagle

  • FRIEND OF GOD?  By : March M. Villareal
The Bible prescribes "fear & trembling" as the proper attitude when coming to God. In fact there was never an example anywhere in the Bible where a man or woman flippantly entered the presence of God and was condoned for it. In fact, Aaron's sons were killed when they entered into the inner parts of the tabernacle without the proper ceremonial process. Even Moses who spoke with God "as a friend" never approached God in a nonchalant manner.

  • THE COMFORT OBSTACLE  By : March M. Villareal
As our comfort zones become wider and more encompassing, our desire to do, move, pray, seek, work, help, reach, and care will fade in proportion to our growing complacency. It will continue to dissolve till finally we become exactly the Christian that our enemy wants us to be: lazy, comfortable, indifferent, unkind, content…useless.
  • THIS IS ONLY A TEST  By : March M. Villareal
Let us look to God and understand that He allows such “tests” to enter our lives because He plans to show us something marvelous about Himself in the process. And that very process will be used to move us from glory to glory.

  • THE SAME OLD NEW THING  By : March M. Villareal
The Lord governs, even causes, these seasons of change, yet He stands above all of it. And while He highlights these patterns and points to them with big neon signs, it is as if He is purposely drawing a very sharp contrast to Himself. In the midst of these seasons appointed for everything, He remains unmoved, unaffected, and the only constant thing.

  • They have sown wheat, but they have reaped thorns  By : Sylvia Huffnagle
In Jeremiah 12 and 13, God addresses Israel's fault which is disinterest in Him and having idols. He says if they will diligently learn His ways and swear by His name, He would restore their land and place to them. I believe the church should apply the admonition to themselves so that they can become the glorious church that God intended. Otherwise, in these lad days, God will only have a remnant and most of the church will join the great whore.)

  • The Ten Commandments - What Should #11 Be?  By : Titus Faulk
As many of you know, the Ten Commandments are a set of moral guidelines that were believed to be written by God, and given to Moses in the form of two stone tablets.

Much has changed in the world since these criteria were established, and many new acts of deviance and evil have risen. There are new habits and addictions that could not have even been imagined in Biblical times. This begs the question, what should the 11th Commandment be?

  • The Scriptures Teach Us to Fast and Pray!  By : Shaila D Touchton
The purpose of fasting is to take our eyes off the things of this world and instead focus on God. Fasting not to be made a subject of display. Fasting is important because of spiritual warfare and it should be accompanied by Confession of sin, mourning, and by praying. Fasting is done to make a right relationship with God, for chastening and humbling of our soul, for overcoming some demonic strongholds, when sorely tempted, when wisdom is earnestly desired , when help and protection are needed , when victory is desired in seemingly impossible situations , when something is earnestly desired from God and the answer has not come through prayer alone , Jesus promised that the Father would bless fasting.
  • What the bible say about Anger?  By : Shaila D Touchton
Anger turns to sin when it is selfishly motivated (James 1:20), when God’s goal is distorted (1 Corinthians 10:31), or when anger is allowed to linger (Ephesians 4:26-27). Instead of using the energy generated by anger to attack the problem at hand, one attacks the person instead. Ephesians 4:15, 19 say we are to speak the truth in love and to use our words to build up others, and not to allow rotten or destructive words to pour from our lips.

  • True Repentance and Forgiveness  By : Shaila D Touchton
This article is written by by Katie Stewart.True repentance ALWAYS has a depth of love for the LORD where sins are freely admitted and sorrow has no face-saving limits.

Luke 7:41-48 "There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell Me therefore, which of them will love him most? Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And He said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. And He turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest Me no water for My feet: but she hath washed My feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. Thou gavest Me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss My feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed My feet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And He said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven."
The LORD Jesus gives us His authority to forgive sin. His authority, His forgiveness, His rules.

Matthew 18:18 "Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven."
But forgiveness is given only after repentance- not before. His authority, His forgiveness, His rules.

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Luke 17:3-4 "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him."

1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Jeremiah 36:3 "It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin."

2 Chronicles 6:36-39 "If they sin against Thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and Thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near; Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto Thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly; If they return to Thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which Thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which Thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for Thy Name: Then hear Thou from the heavens, even from Thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive Thy people which have sinned against Thee."

Psalm 86:5 "For Thou, LORD, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon Thee."

Exodus 34:7 "Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty."

Acts 26:18 "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me."

Matthew 18:23-27 "Therefore is the Kingdom of Heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt."

Joshua 24:15-27 "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods; For the LORD our God, He it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for He is our God. And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for He is an holy God; He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then He will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that He hath done you good. And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD. And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve Him. And they said, We are witnesses. Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel. And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and His voice will we obey. So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD. And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which He spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God."
  • Call No Man "Father"?  By : Shaila D Touchton
Many Protestants claim that when Catholics address priests as "father," they are engaging in an unbiblical practice that Jesus forbade: "Call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven" (Matt. 23:9).

In his tract 10 Reasons Why I Am Not a Roman Catholic, Fundamentalist anti-Catholic writer Donald Maconaghie quotes this passage as support for his charge that "the papacy is a hoax."

Bill Jackson, another Fundamentalist who runs a full-time anti-Catholic organization, says in his book Christian’s Guide To Roman Catholicism that a "study of Matthew 23:9 reveals that Jesus was talking about being called father as a title of religious superiority . . . [which is] the basis for the [Catholic] hierarchy" (53).

How should Catholics respond to such objections?

  • Forgiveness is given only after repentance- not before!  By : Shaila D Touchton
Forgiveness is not a way of forgetting the past. can learn from the past about how to avoid being harmed in the future.God did not forgive unrepentant offenders. He knows our hearts perfectly. Forgiveness is meant for past behavior that was unacceptable. Those that repent receive his forgiveness. Repentance is a fundamental part of God's requirements of man.to forgivesin. How do you restore a relationship or harmony with someone who refuses to accept they wronged you? In a relationship where one person won't accept they wronged the other, you cannot have harmony because of this basic disagreement itself. While God requires us to unconditionally forgive the business partner who cheats us if he repents , He does not require us to stay in business with him. We can forgive someone without being reunited with that person. Repentance and remorse are necessary to receive forgiveness. But if we want to build a broken relationship with other people or with God, repentance is necessary. Before one will change his life, he must decide to change/repent from past behavior which has caused the victim to hurt. Before he decides to change or repent, he must recognize that he has been guilty. As long as a person defends his practice and refuses to admit error, he has not repented.
