1 COR 12 “I’m allowed to do all things”, but all things are not good for me to do. I am allowed to do all things but I will not let anything make me it’s slave”. An addiction is anything or behavior that is habitual, repetitious and difficult or impossible to control. Usually the addiction brings short-term pleasure, but there may be long term consequences in a persons health and welfare. A short term gain with a long term pain is one way of looking at it. Addictions tend to be progressive conditions that slowly exert more and more power and control over the individual. For many people they agree the condition is harmful but stopping seems to be the impossible or undesirable. We often associate addiction with drugs, sex, alcohol but there are others like money, work, food, behavior and anything related to a particular individual. If someone is trying to approach you about the Christianity you may switch off, walk away or on the other hand you may want to find out what God could do for you. You may ask (a) How can God help me? Or (b) What do I have to do to get it?. The bible says clearly that we should do our best to lead a clean and fulfilled life by letting him take control and trusting that he will guide you onto a different set of tracks. If you do not follow Christ you are not the only one – there are many like you may be with a bad addiction that you cannot get rid of or in which you enjoy, or just think that you live a normal life that you are happy with and cannot be persuaded to live a different life which will mean a few changes here and there. The decision is in your hands!. Over time you may see God as your only hope, if you do, he may not solve your problems immediately or although in certain circumstance this can happen. God can guide you in a new direction if you let him bringing new opportunities to help you over a period of time – the events will prove that God had a plan and it works, when you reflect – trust is the key before hand and you will see that the problem can be overcome. When I write these articles I do not make them up or give you false impressions of what could happen in reality – every word is true but the only way is when you take the steps to redeem your true self taking away the mask of your addiction. You may not believe your life could be changed around – it maybe that you just read articles like this when you are passing time or want a laugh at something that is not in your routine. Whatever brings you to this point I encourage you to seek God and let his solution set you free.
