The church that I attend in Nottingham, UK puts on a nativity every Christmas time. About half the audience of all ages may only attend during the festive period but what about the rest of the year?. Why?. Is it a family tradition?, Is the church out of touch and does it meet my needs, Why go when there are few people of my age group in church?, I feel out of place when I go!. The church is in decline! Or it’s boring - well if everyone thought that nobody would go – or would they? Many churches are offering Alpha courses in order to help people learn more about the Christian faith – Why not take up the offer if it is available to you or find out about one yourself. There are many about, ask at one of your local churches to see if they run one. If you take the first step, others will see what a difference to your thoughts & life – however this does take faith. May I encourage you to take the first step after reading this column? Church includes mid-week bible studies, communion, Sunday Services, prayer meetings, social outings as well as finding a balance of other personal interests. Church is not just about attending on a Sunday – although this is biblical it’s about our daily living. 2 Corinthians 4 v 4 says “The devil who rules this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe. They cannot see the light of the Good news – the Good news about the glory of Jesus Christ who is exactly like God”. Would you like the presence of God in your life?. Would you consider going to church now?.
