Scripture to meditate on: Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and are numerous enough to take possession of the land. Exodus 23:30 Not many people are impressed by the word little. Whether it refers to progress, portions or planes, we want it big. After all, who would go on a diet to lose two pounds? We would much rather lose 20. But the truth is that “little” – going slowly – is probably the best way to ensure permanent change and success. Throughout the bible, God seems to take delight in using small things to make big impressions. Take a look at these examples: In Matt. 17:20, the disciples were unable to cast out the demon and Jesus replied to them by saying, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” In the next example we see how God provides the Israelites with manna each day. He uses the same principle to teach us that He wants us to come to Him each day for our daily needs, and He will always provide for us as long as we trust Him. “When they measured it with an omer, he who gathered much had nothing over, and he who gathered little had no lack; each gathered according to his need.” Exodus 18:18 God wants us to know that we can have great power when we trust Him—even when we have a little faith. Instead of waiting for your big miracles, partner with God each day. It’s the little things that you do each day that will increase your health and your faith. God delights in our daily steps with Him.
