The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners... Isaiah 61:1 In these times where we traditionally celebrate the birth of Jesus, I wanted to share with you who I have come to believe he is, at least from what I have been learning in The Bible. Many know him as the coming King, many know him as the saviour, many know him as the Son of God, as a healer and there still many who don't even know him at all. Yet, when I look at My King, My Saviour, My Healer and My Big Brother...I see Him as all these things to me...however I have also come to know him recently and intimately as "My Mighty Door of LIFE" and "My Divine Meal of Life". My pathway to life I find in him. Now, if you think about the function of a door...the door has the ability to allow you in and out of a certain place. It gives you access, an entranceway and or an exit to where ever you want to go. There can also be locks to doors which may require a key to unlock it. I am reminded of Jesus' words when he said "no one can come to the Father but by me..." Friends, he is that door and the keys to that door is his very Inspired Word, and true life, as he has promised to give us in abundance, to the full until it overflows, is on the other side of that door. God is calling us to pay attention, to watch continously and intently for the One who gives the breath of Life. He has smeared us with his healing ointment found only with the very pure blood of Jesus. When God gave us the gift of Jesus as a baby...he gave us His healing ointment so that HIS OINTMENT MAY BE SPREAD ALL OVER OUR PAINS AND BROKENNESS! Jesus was the Good News from God and in the Ancient Hebrew Culture good news was always brought with a feast, a meal to eat. My friends, Jesus was that divine meal from God. Some have thought this to be very canabalistic of God, yet in Ancient Hebrew, the idea of Life meant one's bellies were full and not hungry or starving...Hunger was a huge dilemma in those times, if you had no food and were starving in those days...you were considered already dead...Yet God Our Father, saw this plight and sent his Son to feed His people a Divine Meal that would satisfy their hunger. The hunger God was going to satisfy was spiritual in nature. Many of us in America can be very well fed on a natural level, yet many of us are struggling and dying inside. Starving for dreams and goals to come true, hungering for a better life than what we see around us. Striving to get ahead and never making any progress forward. And yet God seeing all this, even now, has provided a Feasting Table in the very presence of our enemies. My Friends Jesus is that Feasting Table. And of course with every meal, you need something to wash it down...God has already planned for that and has given us His New Wine and fresh water that would quench our thirst...and this my Friend was all In Jesus...He was and still is Our Divine Meal which gives us Life...remember always He is The Bread of Life! As you celebrate the birth of Jesus....come together with your loved ones and share the Good News with The Greatest Feast Imaginable: Jesus Christ. He is the reason for the season! Food For Thought: What can the anointing of The Spirit of God (Jesus Christ) empower you to do? He can empower you to bring or share the good news with a feast of celebration, to those who feel they have been beaten down with the worries of life, the cares of their intense labors and the concerns of hurting loved ones. He can empower you to share the greatness of his sight to others as they watch continously for their breakthrough or miracle especially during this time of year. He can empower you to act as a bandage to those who are crushed inside, hurting and broken pieces yearning to be bound up and treated with loving hands. He empowers you to act as a protective wall a sealant for those who can't fend for themselves. God Almighty will use you to wrap his arms around those who are in need of his protection. All so that the seed of promise hidden within them may burst forth and produce a life that is fruitful. He can empower you to gather people toward His Light, his strength, and his might that they will find radiating in you and through you. Causing people to be set free from their bonds, free to run, free to dance, free to live for The Mighty Great One: Jesus Christ! God's Spirit in you will empower you to act as his gateway, a touchpoint, for people to be drawn to that prescribed path of Liberty as they see God's healing touch working through you. He can empower you to open the eyes of those who are blind to the Radiating Beauty of God's Light, to open the ears of those who are deafened to the Great Words of God that Liberates us from our own captivities. He is that Mighty One that turns the heads of all mankind to see his Glory found only in Christ Jesus!
