Early morning when Sunday School Studnets came to the church, police did not allow the church to be open and told the Sunday School students go back home. Police men said that this church needs permission to conduct the worship service. The pastor of this church reside in a place called Koppa, th other Pastor in Charge was out of station. Finally when the pastor arrived Chikmagalur, police asked him to come Police Station and show the documents of Church Registration and other paper. So the pastor went to Police station, but the concerned police officer was not there, finally pastor had to go where he was and gave a copy of the registration documents. 6. Sun, 21/09/2008 - 8:45am Attack against Christians in Karnataka - 4 Churches vandalised in Karnataka and pastor arrested Sunday, September 21, 2008 GCIC sources have received information on Four churches vandalized and a pastor arrested on charges of conversion in Karnataka. Follows the details: (1) MARIANPALYA, BANGALORE: St. James Catholic Church at Marianpalaya was vandalized in the early hours by the anti Christian outfits. The goons have desecrated the church and broke open cupboards in the church. Marianpalaya Catholic church has also schools and colleges in its premises. Doors/Windows and statue of Mother Mary was damaged in the attack. 7. Sat, 20/09/2008 - 9:01pm Karnataka up date-Pastor and believers arrested and detained in Sidapur police station Pastor Biju,Sunil and five other believers were arrested from Thalikare village by Siddapura police.Siddapura is 28 Kms away from Medikere.The arrested pastors and believers are denied permission to contact outside world. Evangelist Sunil,Roy,Kumar, Meenakshi and Baiju were talking to children in Guya Palakere village and was arrested on a complaint from one Mr. Halappa. The evangelists were taken to Siddapura Police station for enquiry and were charged under IPC section 149,143,295 and 448. 8. Fri, 19/09/2008 - 5:35pm Attacks continues against Karnataka Christians Friday, September 19, 2008 MYSORE, KARNATAKA:On the morning of 19th September 2008, police officials Shivaram and others from Vijayanagara Police Station went to the building where regular worship service is being held and accused the pastor of forceful conversion. They also questioned the house owner for renting out the building, and instructed to seal it. 10. Saroj Kumari Pradhan of G. Udayagiri died in the relief camp today i.e. on 19th morning at about 0500 AM Yesterday on 18th night at 0930 PM the Sangh Parivar radicals have burnt 6 Christian houses at Dakedi village and 11+ houses at Ratingia village under G. Fri, 19/09/2008 - 4:50pm Police torture pastor in Arsikere, Karnataka September 16,2008 ARSIKERE, KARNATAKA: Karnataka Police torture a pastor in Arsikere town, Hassan district in Karnataka on September 16. A missions training organization had organized a training for children's ministry at a Church in Arsikere town. Pastor .Hoysala( Resource person) took two others namely Raju and Cheluvaraj along with him to the training. The trainees were given accommodation in the church premises but these three persons decided to take up accommodation outside and went to Vijayalakshmi Lodge near the bus stand. On the way they were spotted by an Inspector Nemiraju, who knew Pastor Hoysala by sight, as he had arrested him earlier in his previous posting. These three passed before him and took rooms in the lodge. It happened at midnight on 16th September, police went to the room in which the three men were sleeping, and took him to the police station in a jeep. On the way they started beating Pastor Hoysala up, pulled off his clothes and verbally and physically abused him severely. They kept him in the police station all night and kept on torturing him. 12. "The two unidentified persons entered the church by breaking the glass of the window and tried to set ablaze the church with the help of a candle," city superintendent of police Raghavendra Yadav said.
