An American Muslim President?

By: Norma Klingler

A Muslim President?
For most of us, average folk, who believe in God, and in America as a Christian nation – our pilgrim’s heritage shows through the pages of our forefather’s writings if anyone has any doubt. It takes only a few atheists, the ACLU and other enemies of God to make many of us wonder if they are right after all. They are trying to convince the rest of us that the US is not a Christian nation.

Many of us read the Bible – not the Koran- and throughout the Bible, Old and New Testaments we can see the grace of God plainly exposed for all to see, those who seek God with all their hearts will find Him, and in Him we find salvation.

Have you ever read about the destruction of Edom?

Let us take a short step back into biblical history and find who these people were, right from the book of Genesis 36. You will find the whole genealogy of Edom. They had kings long before the Israelites had an earthly king. Obadiah tells us they were prosperous, and well protected yet also full of pride.

They are descendents of Esau, Isaac’s first son, but the one who traded the blessing from his father as the recipient of the prophetic Abrahamic covenant (Genesis 12:1-3) for a bowl of soup (that is why his descendants were named Edomites). Esau’s materialistic tendency caused him to lose his inheritance.

Jacob’s - and not Esau’s descendants - became the nation God promised Abraham to make numerous, and through whom He would bring blessing to all the nations –and through the Messiah who would later come from them.

Much later, the Israelites became slaves in Egypt, and they remained slaves for 400 years. God heard their cries and sent Moses to open the way for them, and the Lord set them free from the Egyptians, but they eventually ended up wandering in the wilderness for 40 years.

At the time of Israel’s wandering in the desert Esau’s descendant settled Canaan. Esau’s descendants became Israel’s enemy…. Not just enemies of Israel, but the epitomy of all who reject God’s will.

Numbers 20: 14- 20 gives us the account of how the king of Edom treated the Israelites just for trying to cross their land. The Edomites even helped the Babylonians to capture the king of Judah, and after the destruction of the temple, they were invited to partake in the plunder. Related by blood to the Israelites, the Edomites became partners with those who hurt them, and even gloated over their loss.

Where have we seen this before? When the Twin Towers collapsed there was rejoicing in the heart of many Muslims – today’s enemies of Israel, and of the Unites States. Who perpetrated the attack? Radical Muslims

If you look at the present day enemies of Israel, who would count in this group, but more importantly who would you count as his friend? The United States comes to mind as a loyal friend of Israel.

The US has never wavered its allegiance and friendship to Israel because as a Christian nation, it was out of Israel, and from the royal lineage of King David that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born. Our Judeo-Christian beliefs had a beginning in the Jewish law and traditions.

As we ponder on the upcoming elections and the two people most likely to be dueling for the number one office in the nation, one has to wonder about the relationship between the US and Israel. As the radical Muslims and Palestinians want the Israelites to disappear- as the Edomites before them did- I doubt a Muslim President will endeavor to preserve the rights of Israel.

Islam is a devout enemy of Israel, and Senator Barak Obama is a Muslim, not a Christian.

Would he as president encourage the US to remain loyal to Israel? I don’t think so.

The Lord is still “sovereign in the kingdoms of men, and He gives them to anyone He wishes and sets over them the lowliest of men.” Daniel 4:17

No doubt, if we keep insisting Barak Obama with his great speaking ability, and penchant for “change” is the best man suited for the job, the Lord may just give us what we deserve.

That will be the beginning of the end for the United States. Islam will have its way with the US, and the US will perish just like the Edomites in the Old Testament times.

Do not be deceived into thinking that Islam – a religion of “peace” – a fanciful description - will set aside its hatred of Israel just because the US has a Muslim President. The opposite may be true. They will be empowered to continue the inhalation of Israel right from American soil, and that my friends, will be the greatest mistake, and may well be the end of the US as we know it today.

In the pages of Ezekiel 35, and Obadiah we learn about the prophecies against Edom, and his ultimate fate. In Obadiah 1:4 we read,
“Though you soar like the eagle
and make your nest among the stars,
from there I will bring you down,"
declares the LORD.”

Let us not make wrong choices like Esau, wrong choices that will affect many generations to come.

Let us not test God.
