"A Short Shot Of Influence, Please!" (Extend Your Influence Without Shortening Your Life) © Lee Wise All rights reserved Let me give you an influence principle I have observed over the years. REPEAT AFTER LEE... "Maximum impact Minimal touch" In a couple of seconds I'm going to lead you through a short exercise. A life-changing exercise for someone. Maybe you. Maybe someone else. Maybe both. First, however, let me define maximum impact for our purpose: Maximum impact is... The greatest help -- even though small -- that would inspire, encourage, or assist someone in becoming the person you know they could become. Now on to our exercise. List three people you know. But... HERE ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS They must already listen to you -- at least to some degree. You must enjoy them. You must enjoy helping them or growing in Christ together. List your three 1. 2. 3. A QUESTION Now ask yourself this question: "In what way could I touch the lives of one or more of these people - in small way - that would have a maximum impact in their lives - right now?" However... It must be fun for you! It must be meaningful to you. You must be able to "see" it happening. AND YOUR THREE IDEAS ARE? List the three ideas. 1. 2. 3. TAKE A SECOND LOOK Looking over your list. Which one of the three causes you the greatest measure of personal delight? List it here --> WHAT DATE WAS THAT? The action you just wrote down. When could you do this? Month, day, year. What's the date? WILL YOU OR WON'T YOU? Will you do what you *could* do? Yes or No? Circle your answer. I will assume you answered yes! Assuming that is the case, ... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? You have "discovered" something that is *doable.* With *someone* you like. In a way that is *fun.* And that is called... A non-killer way of extending your influence -- and your life. Enjoy! Lee
