There is such a profound seeking for manifestations of the supernatural today, that deceptions run rampant in our churches and homes. Making regular “sold-out” appearances, lucifer is hard at work deceiving even the elite.
With an awakening hunger, people are beginning to cry out for God, only to see the false manifestations of a usurping devil. Worse, he’s not only stealing their souls, but their worship, too. Thousands of years after he was cast out of Heaven, he’s still trying to ”play God,” and find people who will worship him. The mask is off, lucifer! you are being exposed!
Why is this happening, now, more than ever? There are two main reasons: 1) It is nearing time for Jesus to Return, and 2) People are not willing to pay the price to get their lives in order before the Lord. This leaves them with unresolved issues that block them from receiving God’s Highest and Best. Sin blocks blessings. Yes, Jesus Forgave us our sins, past, present and future, but He Expects us to turn from our former ways, weeding sin out continually. He Still Wants a holy people, to worship Him, with honor, respect and reverence.
In some churches, the lights are turned off during worship. Why would Jesus Want a darkened church? Answer: He Wouldn’t. But, the great deceiver would. In other churches, the worship team has gained rock-star fame and recognition. This is of the human flesh, or ego. Too often, worship has become all about performance. The musicians then, are seeking and taking the glory that belongs to God. This opens a door for the demonic.
Then, there is another situation that needs to be addressed. Swept up in a tide of warm and fuzzy feelings during worship, very few take the time to discern. False doctrines, false prophets and false signs and wonders are everywhere. Like innocent lambs led to slaughter, are the congregants of some of the churches today.
What pastor has been trained to know the false from the Real? What pastor understands the mechanisms, ploys and tactics of the evil? Where and when have these things been taught to your average pastor?
There are other reasons as well. In television programs and the movies, psychic skills, witchcraft and sorcery are being taught at an ever-alarming rate. On satan’s highest feast day of Halloween, parents are dressing their children up as witches and sorcerers. They buy school and every day clothing, accessories and paraphernalia covered with skulls and crossbones, demons and other satanic images. Video games today, are filled with demonic creatures, and abject violence. The Harry Potter books have become a huge phenomenon, with a theme park now open at Universal Studios in Orlando.
Why is this a problem? These things indicate an alignment with the satanic forces. That means, an acceptance of them. It must be stated clearly here, that such an alignment or acceptance, is a rejection of Jesus Christ and His Salvation.
We must wake up, church. We must become aware of the false, so that we do not fall prey to it. I'm going to give you three separate examples of the false light of lucifer. The church today, is being deceived into accepting the false light and thinking it is God. There are many manifestations of this light. The Lord Tells us that His People perish for lack of knowledge. Let these examples be a beginning guide for you.
EXAMPLE #1
I walked into a church that was in the middle of worshipping. The church seemed to be filled with golden light. The atmosphere seemed all warm and fuzzy, and inviting. Finding a seat, I stood to worship, but everything in me just stopped. I just “shut down.”
I sat down and prayed in the Gift of Tongues. Within a few moments, I felt Holy Spirit Rising up within me, like a Fountain. Ah, the Well of Living Water! My thoughts hadn't even connected, but I just “knew” what to do. When the steps of the righteous are well-ordered, Holy Spirit Sometimes Puts you on automatic pilot, if only briefly. At that moment, you are surely abiding in Him.
Just using my thoughts, I took authority in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I cast out the spirit of lucifer. Immediately, that golden cloud rolled out of that church. I could physically see it leave, like a wave that rolled out of the room.
The pastor immediately jumped up, and picked up the microphone. He was completely unaware of what was going on. What you as a pastor are not aware of.....is deadly, for you as the shepherd, for your church, and for every individual and family represented there.
That “golden light” was a demonic manifestation. The people thought they were worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ, and in their hearts and minds, they probably were. However, the sin that was present there, was the open door for the demonic to arrive. That particular church actively sought manifestations of gold dust, gemstones, prophetic words and more. Empty coffee cups, water bottles and a miscellaneous mélange of things were often found on the seats and floor of the sanctuary as people left. Because they were not humbled before the Lord, satan had a field day.
One thing I had noticed about that church, is that they were not doing weekly altar calls, or weekly communion. They were busy chasing the supernatural, and that’s what they found. Only, it wasn’t the supernatural of God that they received.
EXAMPLE # 2
Some months ago, I took a call from a friend. She told me that in less than half an hour, a service was to begin just a few minutes from me. A "prophet" had been invited in from another state. She felt that I needed to go, and that perhaps there would be a word for me and the ministry. Reluctantly, I got myself together and went to find this place. I was leery, having seen so much false prophecy. God Works in Mysterious Ways, so I went, watching for Him.
As I entered the darkened room, the oppressiveness was overwhelming. Someone was beating on a large drum. It seemed more like a pagan gathering than a church. Again, I ask: “Why, are pastors turning the lights off in churches today?” Some of them look more like a seedy night club than a House of God! There is never, ever, a reason to turn the lights off! Is this being done to "highlight" the worship team? NO!!!! They are not to be made idols! The only "atmosphere" you need is that of the Presence of HOLY Spirit! Let me say that again, "HOLY Spirit."
I took a seat, and again, sat and prayed in Holy Spirit's Gift of Tongues. Immediately, I was doing spiritual warfare, taking authority over, and casting out the demonic that had invaded and pervaded the “atmosphere.” satan is the prince of the air.
For several minutes, I continued on, until there was a breaking up of what was happening in the spirit realms. They knew I meant business. They left, more in bits and droves, than like a cloud rolling out. The "atmosphere" had changed. But, the pastor took the mic, and said, "It seems that Holy Spirit Has Arrived, let us begin."
In this case, she wasn't experiencing the Presence of Holy Spirit, but the absence of the demonic! They had left. The room returned to neutral. This was not Holy Spirit at all.
She introduced the prophet, who was given great accolades. Evidently, this prophet periodically visited this small gathering, coming from another state. He proceeded to give messages to just about everyone there. I was tempted to believe that at least, he was working with God. That is, until I saw him giving out prophecy after prophecy after prophecy. There is NO PRECEDENT for that in the Bible. The prophets of God typically came and gave A SINGLE message, usually of repentance, to a single person or a city.
Uncomfortable throughout the evening, I continued to seek the Lord and discern. Faithful God, the answer was Given. Towards the very end of the night, the prophet asked if anyone had gold dust on them. Gold dust is a manifestation of the demonic. I left. That was all I needed to hear.
That prophet, and that pastor were deceived by lucifer. They probably thought they were acting correctly. The problem is, that the people accepted lucifer's presence. Oh, my! Not only that, but they received "messages" from this prophet. When lucifer gives a message, do you really think it is of truth? It usually sounds good, but has a hook in there somewhere. Those messages can destroy lives, and lead people in the wrong direction and wrong choices for many years. The worst part is, they "feel good." Why? We know that lucifer feeds and puffs up the flesh.
During his preaching, and prophesying, it seemed at times that Holy Spirit Was Present. On closer examination……..and after prayer and discernment, I knew otherwise.
We MUST COMPARE every thought, word, deed, situation and atmosphere to the Word of God, the Infallible Authority!
EXAMPLE #3
There have been times I've gone into worship or praise in my own homeor even car, when a “glorious light” appears. We must be constantly on guard! Do NOT accept every spirit that comes to you, even if it “looks like” it is Holy Spirit. Beloved, try every spirit!
1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Don't just accept that when you see that light, or golden light, that it is of God. Test that spirit! How? "Holy Spirit, is this of You? If so, Give me peace. If not, take it away." Or, as the Bible Teaches us,
1 John 4:3
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2 John 1:7
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
If a light enters the room you are in, or the car, ask that spirit if Jesus Christ Has Come in the Flesh. Many times, you will see them leave.
The evil ones have had thousands of years to practice. We, have had but a few. We must use wisdom! Do NOT accept everything you hear in spirit! Do NOT accept every presence that presents itself! The consequences are great!
Matthew 10:16
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Certainly, I have experienced the Undeniable Presence of my Holy God. There have been times, when I couldn’t stand for the sheer Holiness of Him. There have been times, when I cried for days afterwards from being near to His Holiness. His Light, Exposes those darkened areas of our flesh, that each of us has. It is very, very humbling.
Perhaps, you are not a pastor or minister, but simply someone who attends church. Use these same principles, and do prayerful intercession for the pastor and the church.
A NOTE TO PASTORS
Do not be so naive, or arrogant, as to think satan has ignored your church. If there are people there, there are demons as well. Is there adultery, divorce, division, sickness, strife, contentiousness amongst your congregation? These things are not of God. They are demonic afflictions on the unsuspecting, and untrained. Jesus IS the Fruit of the Spirit!
There are many today, who are able to see into the spiritual realms. God Has Placed them in your church for a reason. Use them to “keep watch” before and during your services. Set up teams and committees that will sit in various places in your church to keep watch.
The times that a church is most vulnerable:
• During worship
• During prayer lines
• Through “Prophetic” Words
These demonic beings only have the right to enter your church, if there is sin. Make sure the sins of pride, greed, and sexual sin have been dealt with.
Do you remember the passages in Ezekiel, where God Revealed the things that were going on in the Temple? These things were an abomination to Him. Our churches today, are filled with idolatry, celebration of pagan festivals, yoga whose positions are offerings to pagan gods, and more. They are an abomination to God. But, bowing to lucifer, and worshipping his presence? That has to be such a slap in the face to God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. Even when our hearts and our intents are correct, we know not what we do.
Ezekiel 8:8-17
8Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
9And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
10So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
11And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
12Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.
13He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
14Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
15Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
16And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
17Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
If you, as a pastor are in sin while standing in the pulpit, you’ve opened huge doors for satan to attack your church and your congregation, as well as your own life. You were Anointed and Appointed to be the shepherd of God’s people. Lead them in wisdom, holiness and purity. Be the Example Jesus Was and Is.
Be sure to check the website and look for the blogtalkradio series on “Witchcraft In The Church.” The Lord Said, “My people perish for lack of knowledge.” Don’t let you, your family, or your congregation be among them!
