Who Christ Is In Us
Author : John Telman
It is not important that we impact the world. It is important that Christ impacts the world through us. Christ in us is the only hope for us to become all we are meant to be - to experience our personal “glory”. Even when we help other Christians reach the perfection of Christ in them it is according to Christ’s working, which works mightily in us. (Colossians 1:27-29)
We are connected to the vine so that Christ’s life may flow into us and through us. It is not so much that we are “the King’s KIDS” as it is that we are “the KING’S kids”. God’s spiritual DNA is alive in us. (I John 3:1). Therefore, we need our minds and lives to be completely in harmony with the mind and life of Christ; for Christ to be “formed” in us. (Galatians 4:19 - per Thayers lexicon)
In other words, we don’t need to know “who we are in Christ”. We need to know “who Christ is in us”.
Does He live through our lives as ....
Reconciler, because we are involved in the ministry of reconciliation
Restorer, because we strengthen people
Counselor, because we give godly advice
Lord and King, because we submit to his ways
Shepherd, because we care about people’s needs
The Way, because we follow him
The Truth, because we rightly divide God’s Word
The Life, because we find our energy in him
Loving, because we love
Holy, because we keep ourselves pure from this world’s ways
.....and much more?
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves. (2 Corinthians 4:7). The key is to understand that there is a treasure in us, the earthen vessels. Too much attention given to the vessel and not what is in the vessel is short sighted.
